Spade Cam by JKCA Studio

Privacy policy

Your video stays on your iPhone.

The app talks to your camera on the camera's own Wi-Fi. There is no account and no ads. The one thing it sends us is anonymous usage counts, and you can turn that off.

Your camera's video

Video goes from the camera to your iPhone over the camera's Wi-Fi and is shown on screen. Spade Cam does not record it or send it anywhere. A photo is saved only when you tap the shutter, and it goes to your Photos library.

Usage counts

Spade Cam sends anonymous usage counts to JKCA Studio so we can improve it:

  • How long the app is open
  • Whether connecting to a camera worked
  • Which features get used

Features counted include the demo, level lock and saving a photo. Each count carries a random install number made by the app, the time and the app version.

It never sends:

  • Images
  • Video
  • Your camera's network name
  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • Anything that identifies you

The install number is not your advertising ID and is not tied to your Apple Account. Our collector does not keep IP addresses. We use the counts only to improve Spade Cam.

Turn it off with the switch on the first screen, or in Settings, Spade Cam, Usage counts. Turning it off deletes any counts still waiting on your iPhone.

Permissions

Local Network. Lets Spade Cam reach the camera on the camera's own network. It is used for nothing else.

Photos, add only. Lets Spade Cam add the photos you save. Add-only access cannot see or read your library. iOS asks the first time you save.

Settings on your iPhone

The app remembers your choices, such as which ear and whether level lock is on. They stay on your iPhone.
