Usually because nothing online says plainly what you do and where: the site talks around it, the Google Business Profile disagrees with the site, or there are too few reviews and listings for an AI to confirm you exist.
Does my home page say what I do in the first sentence?
Read it out loud. If the first sentence is a slogan, an AI has nothing to quote. Replace it with what you are, what you do and where, then keep the slogan below it.
Do my site and my Google Business Profile agree?
Check the business name, address, hours, phone and category against each other. When they disagree, an AI has two answers and often picks neither.
Can search engines read my site at all?
A site that blocks crawlers, hides its text inside images, or loads everything with scripts can be invisible to the tools that feed AI answers. It is the first thing JKCA looks at in a site health check.
Do other sites mention me?
Reviews, local directories, your chamber of commerce and trade associations all count as confirmation. One accurate listing that matches your site beats ten that do not.
